We welcome back Neil Markham who has just returned from his training camp in Slovenia. This training camp was organised by the European Triathlon Union Development team and following the nomination of Neil by the Malta Triathlon Federation. Upon his return, Neil had this to share with us : This being my first training camp abroad with a high level of athletes I did not know what to expect, I did my training and hoped for the best. Immediately the training sessions given to us by the foreign coaches where tough but interesting as from each session I learnt a lot of new ideas and skills which I could include in my training. This was a real eye opener as after speaking with the athletes they explained to me on how they train to get the most out of their bodies. Come race day, all of us had a great race despite racing in 19 degree cold waters and having to bike and run in the rain but this did not matter as spirits where high due to each athlete’s rankings, myself included. This training camp was a great experience for me as I have learnt a lot as well as formed new friendships which I will treasure for the rest of my Triathlon journey.
