We went to Aylmer today to celebrate the life of a woman I wish I had asked more questions of and understood more about. She was pragmatic, independent and adventuresome but held dear her ties to family. Im glad that she is free of the pain she suffered for so very very long, but selfishly I wish she were here. I will treasure memories of Millie - one of the most heartwarming ones is of her expressing her sillier side by playing peekaboo-silly-face in her hospital bed to achieve smiles from Thomas just days before she left us. Give Grams a hug for me and you two be good girls.
