We went to see the Snoopy Japanesque show at the 21st Century Museum in Kanazawa. It was excellent in lots of ways; it was the best of Japanese traditional crafts incorporating the Snoopy motif. This might be a way of breathing new life into traditional arts and the queue at the shop afterwards to buy expensive Japanesque goods was amazing. Who ever thought of the idea certainly knew sales tactics and all made a lot of money. Lets hope the artists/ craftsman also are rewarded for their hard work ! There were Snoopy kimonos,obi, pottery, wood and stone carvings, glass, washi, pearls, roof tiles and of course urushi.
