We were robbed yesterday. Our home ransacked. After the shock and anger wore off and I began cleaning and processing things, I was amazed at how quickly my mood lifted. It put so much into perspective. Overwhelmingly, I am thankful that Bryant, the dogs and I are safe. Grateful for our compassionate neighbors and friends who checked in on us, for Mom delivering a hot meal and a warm hug and for the kind JSO officers on the scene. Lucky for all the sentimental possessions that remained. We even had a laugh that these idiots tossed our house yet missed the only real cash we had sitting out in plain sight. While we lost some THINGS yesterday, the worst was losing our sense of security in our own home. But, at the end of the day, there is value in the experiences that remind us how lucky we truly are for all the good in our lives.
