We were so busy that we had not a moment to savor, but on December - TopicsExpress

We were so busy that we had not a moment to savor, but on December 12, Chris Hopkins and I privately celebrated our five-year-dating anniversary. On December 12, 2009, before we even met in person, Chris convinced me to give a relationship with him a go. Im not sure if it was his wit or his charm, maybe it was the fact that he was the most emotionally sweet guy with a heck of a brain... IDK, but somehow, he got me to agree to such a cockamamie scheme :P It hasnt been easy, and weve been through so many things in our short time together- including a wedding void of legal paperwork, then a subsequent breakup, followed by a transformative reunion- that I can say that this relationship has officially surpassed the level of life-transformation I experienced with my first love, which really isnt all that easy to do. I appreciate so much what weve grown together and how hard weve worked over this last year to recover the core of our love as well as hash out a life that was authentically good for us without the crutch of a community we thought we were destined to bring to life. We had to completely dissolve so many things internally and between us. We had to let so much go. But weve found a way to bring our differences together, to strengthen each other with our perfectly matching weaknesses and strengths. At the end of the day, each and every day, even when Im mad or annoyed or frustrated (which isnt all that often these days), I am so happy to be filled with love for this man, who, through thick and thin, has time and again been far more brave than I thought he was. I love the life we are creating together, and most importantly, Chris, I love you
