We will be attending this afternoon the Green Star Award of St Marys College in Rose-Hill (one of the EFS focus schools). The Green Star Award is closely linked to their Ecological Protection Club. As Anamantoo Boni Bangari (Boni - one of the EFS Mentors) share beautifully with me this morning: Its purpose is to give to each and every Marian the possibility to taste sustainability in all aspects of living. Many projects, both curricular and extracurricular have been carefully devised to lead our students to become conscious of our impact on ecology. Some of these projects are, the school garden, discovering the living biology of our island (Experiments into our local forests), eating a balanced diet (Cooking festivals) , science and human values at the core of living (Retreats, science festivals), intercultural sharing (Trip to Rodrigues), etc. We will share the news of the Award and pictures with you early next week.
