We will be starting our live question & answer session in less than an hour, and it will last from 3-5 pm. Feel free to ask any questions about the severe weather expected late tonight and on Sunday, or any severe weather safety questions. You can just post your questions in the write a comment box under this post. I will start with our current thinking ... we are still expecting showers and storms to form tonight over western and central Oklahoma, and then spread east into eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas after midnight tonight. The main threat with this first round will be large hail and strong damaging winds. The second round will be Sunday afternoon/Sunday evening, when storms form along the dry-line over eastern Oklahoma, and track eastward into Arkansas. Large hail, strong damaging winds and tornadoes will all be possible with the second round. There is still some uncertainty about exactly where the dry-line will be when the storms form. The current thinking is along highway 75. This set up will put the main threat for severe weather for Sunday afternoon/Sunday evening along and east of highway 75. It is important to note that if the dry-line should speed up or slow down, the location for storm initiation Sunday afternoon could shift east or west of highway 75.
