We will be together again! Although I miss him even now, I thank God for allowing me to know and love (and to be loved by) a man of such dedication, character and integrity as my father-in-law, Robert Santangelo. Without a doubt he is now rejoicing in Heaven and experiencing real life in the presence of our Lord! For those who care to know more... Robert M. Santangelo, age 86, passed on to his Heavenly home, Thursday, September 18, 2014, in Rochester. Mr. Santangelo was born August 24, 1928, in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Rocco and the late Erminia (DAmato) Santangelo. He is survived by his loving family: devoted wife of 61 years, Carol (Latimer) Santangelo; daughter, Mary of Albany, NY, sons, Michael (Robin) of Frederick, MD, and John (Judy) of Pittsford, NY; grandchildren, Joshua, and Dr. Rhea (Marcus) Bowman of Pittsburgh, PA; great granddaughter Brooke Bowman; sister-in-law, Angie Santangelo, Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Sam (Betty) Latimer; sister-in-law, Cres Latimer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Santangelo is predeaceased by his parents, Rocco And Erminia (DAmato) Santangelo, his beloved siblings Lee Rovoli, Bennie (Rose) Santangelo, Florence (James) Chafel, Anne (James) Zicari, Louis Santangelo and Jean Santangelo , and godson, Charles Zicari. He received his undergraduate and graguate degrees from Brockport State College, NY. He was a teacher and administrator at various Rochester City Schools, concluding his career at Kodak Park , School 41, as principal. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 23, at Noon at St. John the Evangelist Church, 553 Humboldt St, Rochester, NY. Interment at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 South Goodman Street, Rochester, NY 14620.
