We will begin reading at Acts chapter 10... When we last looked at the book of Acts, it seemed good to the Holy Ghost to have me focus on the persecution of the church in that day, perpetrated by Paul, who was Saul, before his encounter with Christ, on the road to Damascus. But there is always more in a biblical text that can be exegete at any time. Some of the thoughts that came up to me this day, were some foundational truths about our current day, and the relevant applications. Number one, we are still fulfilling the book of Acts. As the church, the body of Believers, we are charged with fulfilling the great commission. The assignment is to do it until he comes again to get us. That is something that is biblically sound teaching, nobody would be able to argue. Second, we cant be affective unless, there is something that sets us aside from previous generations of Christians.... If the gospel preached in our present day, is not accompanied with signs and wonders, Our modern day church will not succeed at fulfilling Christs discharge to preach the gospel to all creatures. To heal the sick raise the dead cats out devils. I am going to be controversial here... It is easy for people to say, that gifts of the Holy Ghost, and signs and wonders are not for today.. Because they are not happening in our lives.. And Ive found that men can be prolific speakers, because you can go to schools, join toastmasters and other speakers forums, to learn how to speak well. But that may enable us to be persuasive, and make many conversion to Christ off of intellect but it wont produce lasting maturing growing Christians.. That make other disciples.. But signs and wonders through ordinary Christian men and women, boys and girls.. Will wake up the sleeping.. I predict, here in America, before God judges our country he is going to manifest what I am talking about here today. And the reason he is going to do it this way, is so that people dont get focused on one individual, man, woman, boy or girl. Bit he will protect his glory...! We have held some of the most profound pooper tears and princes of preaching in our history. But they for the most part were just preacher and not the full Gospel following them with signs following. The places in the world where the greatest growth and fast pace converts to the faith, are where signs and wonders are following the word preached ... Now you might say, brother, why are they not happening here? Heres just a few reasons why... First, UNBELIEF!! Plain and simple... There is such skepticism. In the body of Christ! Lets not talk about the unbelieving world yet. The body of Christ is full of unbelief. Well, heres a couple of reasons for unbelief in the church.. One the gospel is not being preached.. For the most part its not.. Much of what masquerades as the gospel, is actually psychology and sociology. With a few scriptures thrown in. The word clearly states faith comes by hearing, and the hearing is by the word of God ....... a whole other discussion for topical thought. For another time. Another reason no signs and wonders and miracles, theres no real love body wide.. In America.. Let me explain, we have churches where there are multiple nationalities attending in the church, but racism is alive and well within the four walls. People who, dont read there word every day will not have discernment, and no discernment, allows any kind of spirit, to just exist within the church without addressing it. Where there is racial prejudice there is hate and weather is hey there cant be love. Faith only works by love..! Well, brother Devi, you might say, we have signs in our church! And ill say, show me your congregations love and Ill show you if they are true signs or lying signs and wonders... For remember, Jesus said, there will be many that will say to him in that day; I cast out devils in your name and did many wonderful works in your name and he will confess to them depart from me, you workers of iniquity, I never knew you! but the one sign of the true church will be love for all nations, for the Jew first, and then the rest of the world.. One finally, reason why, no signs on large scale happen here yet. Is because we fight, contend, divide and have conflict in churches all across America.. There is not the real unity that we could be. There is a unity that Messiah talks about, in the gospel of John 11:52 which is a prophetic declaration by Christ concerning the unity that is to come to the church.. Before he comes back to get us... America is plagued with prayerlessness! We are reading a book written in 1990 called The Art of Intercession ......... I grew up in a prayer filled church its sickening what masquerades as prayer meetings today.. We are just like what Jesus asked his disciples when he was about to be taken to be crucified.. What can you not watch with me, for one hour in prayer? we pray a hot 10 minutes, and we think to God it constitutes player? When there are millions around the world who are in prayer for hours. right here in our state, people pray, Red hot firery prayer for hours! across the country and around the world prayer is being made to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.......Next month.. There will be a season of prayer for 50 days... I hope you will join us, as we fast for 50 days, and pray every night from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.. Starting Easter Sunday through Pentecost Sunday. 50 days of fasting and prayer starting midnight, no drinking or eating until 5:00 pm and then from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in prayer for 50 days.. It will change your life.. If you are on medication and need to take it with food, then you need to ask God if you can fast! But as many that take up the challenge you will see a change take place in your lives.. Stay tuned for more info... Signs will come to America, but not through the big names, but through all those that believe God is going to work. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. (Daniel 11:32 KJV) Be strong!! O people of God!
