We will never forget their sacrifices... Today the Mounted - TopicsExpress

We will never forget their sacrifices... Today the Mounted Warfare Foundation remembers an extraordinarily unique and clearly highly respected Mounted Warrior who was awarded not one, not two, but THREE POSTHUMOUS awards for separate actions. Staff Sergeant John C. Ritso from Chautauqua County, New York assigned to E Company, 601st Tank Destroyer Battalion was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary heroism 25 January 1944. He was also awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for his actions leading up to the events on 25 January 1944 and was awarded the Silver Star with Oak Leaf Cluster (Posthumously) for his actions at the cost of his life on 26 January 1944. Every Mounted Warrior has a Story. Tell us yours at nmwfoundation.org/submit-your-story/.
