We witnessed the best and worst kind of parenting at the beach yesterday. The good: A boy threw wet sand at his little brother and instead of reprimanding the bully, they paid all their attention on the victim, leaving the elder son to reflect on his own actions all by himself. The bad: A lady who evidently hated sand kept stepping on our mat to clean her feet and instructed her boys to take the sandcastle tools from others around them (including us) since we were not using them at that time. And as the boys replied saying that the tools belonged to the others and they were too shy to ask for permission, the mother rebutted by saying everyone has so many and is too busy to realise that one or two are missing. And finally when organisers came along and retrieved their stolen tools, the mother said:Chey! Lets go! So dirty here! I was speechless.
