We would be honored if any Friends of The Farm would like to come to our Halloween Celebration! In the southern outskirts of Clanton, Alabama a piece of land is being made ready. Three friends with an idea sit around a fire as coffee brews and Old Crow Farm and Intentional Community is born. Ours is an idea inspired by the ideals of a sustainable lifestyle free from the constraints of power source dependency, one in which the land is respected and worked with rather than against, where on that land a family grows out of a group of folk who are determined, loving, hard working and strong of spirit. A beautiful world of possibilities has been opened. We are drawing up our bylaws and seek volunteers at this stage to help us get ready for the Halloween Campout and Birthing Celebration Oct 31-Nov 3. In order to make this amazing event happen, we need a few brothers and sisters to give of their time, energy and skills starting Friday Oct 24, the weekend before Halloween. Please send a message to me, Cynthia McGinnis Temple or to Majic Happens and we will send you additional information including a map to the farm. Old Crow Farm will be an egalitarian community and working farm. Our power sources will be off the grid and we aim to use water from springs on sight. We will be developing organic gardens and raising goats and chickens. We have future plans for additional small livestock. Our land has many natural springs and we have plans to develop the water systems to provide hydro power. Our living spaces will be built with natural materials and processes whenever possible. We are building workshop areas and have plans to hold weekend workshops on such topics as natural building techniques, herbal medicine, music and artistic projects.
