We would like to send a huge congratulations to all of the nominees for Australian of the Year Awards, but a special and huge congratulations for Rosie Batty, who is an incredible voice for survivors of Domestic Violenceand is 2015 Australian of the Year. Bringing a perception of domestic violence rarely seen in the public forum, Rosie helps raise awareness about Domestic Violence and the limitations that are needing attention in the current system. Unfortunately Rosie was dragged into the spotlight when her son was killed by her ex husband who had an extensive history of Domestic Violence. She has mentioned previously she raises awareness for Domestic Violence to ensure something positive can come from her heartbreaking loss. Hopefully with her success we as a country will continue to raise awareness about Domestic Violence. There is no stopping what can be achieved together when we talk about the issues and needs and have a no tolerance approach. (Rach)
