Weather Forecast for KENT – TUESDAY 18th November ’14. SYNOPTICS: Rising pressure off to our north east is enabling a continental air flow to be established over us. But the reason why we aren’t under two feet of lake-effect snow by now is that the air aloft, the sea surface around us and dewpoints are all simply still too warm (needs to be at least 8 C colder). TODAY . . . While we should at least have better luck with seeing some bright spells today, especially this morning, there is a risk of showers breaking out over our region as we wear onto the afternoon. An easterly breeze will make the maximum temperature of 11 C (52 F) feel quite seasonal in nature. Conditions might just about be good enough to hang the line washing outdoors this morning. Do so at your own risk if you’re desperate enough, at least before the showery stuff does turn up in the afternoon. TONIGHT . . . Any showers that are still about in the evening should die out tonight but there’ll be a fair amount of cloud about anyway. That, along with a light south easterly breeze will prevent temperatures from falling any lower than 8 C or 7 C (46 F to 45 F). OUTLOOK . . . Tomorrow (Wednesday) will be rather cloudy with limited bright intervals, but it is likely to stay rain-free for most of the time. A brisk south easterly breeze will keep it feeling quite cool and fresh at 10 C (50 F). In a nut shell we can expect little change for the rest of the week and into the weekend, as in generally settled and uneventful. Although, having said that, it may become milder again by the end of the week as our wind turn in from the south. That’ll make it feel pleasantly mild in any bright spells we do actually get, but I think there’ll be more cloud cover than there are clear breaks anyway. All in all, not a lot to get too excited over as things stand.
