Weather Forecast for Kent – THURSDAY 2nd October - TopicsExpress

Weather Forecast for Kent – THURSDAY 2nd October ’14. SYNOPTICS: High pressure hangs on over us here at Kent but it has a weak front tangled up in it, hence the rather cloudy skies. That “fart trapped under a duvet” effect again. TODAY . . . Although it will be quite cloudy for most of today, a few bright breaks may occur here and there, especially in the afternoon. At least it will stay dry all day with temperatures continuing to be on the warm side at 18 C (64 F) under calm winds. It should be okay to hang the line washing out but the drying process may be a bit slow due to lack of sunshine, high humidity and light winds. TONIGHT . . . Staying cloudy as we go into the night with a small risk of a light shower over the Channel coastal end of our country, although clear breaks may start to develop towards the London end as we go into the early hours. Once again, a few mist patches may tend to reform in the usual prone areas. Another mild one with minimum temperatures ranging between 17 C (63 F) around coastal areas to 12 C (54 F) in any mist patches under a light south-westerly breeze. TOMORROW (Friday). A better day in terms of sunny spells and thus continuing to feel warm for it at 20 C (68 F). Make the most of it as that probably will be the last proper full “summer”- like day of 2014 – probably a good chance to give the garden that last final once over. WEEKEND . . . After a bright start on Saturday morning, cloud is going to quite quickly thicken up by mid-day, along with freshening southerly winds until eventually the cold front itself does arrive here in the afternoon to make it wet and windy for a time. However, I’m still unsure on how much rain we are actually going to have, probably only amount to a couple of hours of in-your-face type drizzly stuff in the afternoon or evening before clearing away to clear skies later on in the night. Sunday should be a better day out of the weekend with some sunshine and lighter wind after a chilly start – but cloud is expected to increase in from the west by Sunday evening. NEXT WEEK . . . Wet and windy again on Monday as a frontal system move in from the west thus making for a rather Autumnal start to the working week. Then changeable and breezy with sunny spells and showers for the rest of the week. Temperatures closer to average values.
