Weather update from John: Remaining rather dull and cloudy with a little light patchy rain and drizzle pushing in from the south and west with associated low cloud. However, the cloud is expected to thin and break from time to time allowing some weak hazy sunshine to break through the best of which will be inland to the north and east. Wind light increasing moderate to fresh southwesterly; maximum temperature being close to 20C. The winds are expected to veer to the west northwest during the evening as the weakening band of rain and low cloud gradually clears to the southeast, where it will tend to stall in the English Channel this will be followed by drier, brighter conditions although generally remaining rather cloudy with perhaps a few isolated showers developing in the west. The southwesterly breeze will veer to a more westerly direction and ease a little; minimum temperature 15C. After some morning brightness cloud will thicken from the southwest later seeing the return of rather dull damp conditions especially in the west. The mainly light to moderate westerly breeze will back to the southwest, maximum temperature 20C.
