Wedding dresses made from divorce papers. Cool, but also - TopicsExpress

Wedding dresses made from divorce papers. Cool, but also bewildering: someone help me interpret the symbolism here. Is it that something new always rises from the ruins? Is it that our past, scars and all, is with us, but it can be made beautiful as we step into a new chapter? Is it suggesting that marriage is temporary, even as the bride and groom say what are probably intended as until-death-do-us-part vows, and does the dress therefore undermine or wryly comment on the vows? Or is it a subtle/not-subtle warning to the groom: "I stand even upon the ashes of those who have wounded or betrayed or misused me and who have been burned to the ground by my fury. Look upon me and be reminded. Break these vows ye vow to me today at thine own peril."
