Wednesday, October 15th- As the day approaches and our busy lives - TopicsExpress

Wednesday, October 15th- As the day approaches and our busy lives continue, we go about our days headed to work, taking the kids to school, we cook, clean, balance sports and activities and get caught up with the hustle and bustle of daily life. But October 15th holds a heart ache that will never leave Danny and Angelas heart. On this day two years ago an entire community held Addison up in prayer, a nation of friends and family praying for one last miracle. On this day two years ago, Angela held Addi in her arms and kissed her for the last time. A vivid memory that no parent should every experience. Addison always had a thing for dates. Addi was born the day before her Daddys birthday, Thanksgiving, her first open heart surgery was on her 2nd cousins day of birth, her second open heart on another family members birthday. Addi loved to leave her mark on the world using dates and she chose to leave us on the National Day of Child Loss remembrance. What a day to remember. 1-4 parents will experience child loss. That number is mind boggling. Heart breaking, brutal but true. On this day two years later many things are happening to remember Addison and many other children all over the world. First, in Colorado a presentation is being held where a $25,000 donation is being made in Addisons honor. A check that is going directly to the heart institute of Denver for HLHS research. That money will be directly helping children currently fighting HLHS. It has been of upmost importance to Angela to make a difference, to give back. To help in anyway she can to insure another family wont experience the same hell of loosing a child like her and Danny have. She is determined to make a change. To never forgot, to keep Addisons memory here. At Hope West Hospice of Grand Junction in the Angel Garden parents will light candles by bricks with their childs name on them. A place where mothers share the similarities of a broken heart, a ache that never leaves. But on this day, they remember, they honor their babies and they do it together. In North Dakota, another ceremony is in place to remember all the children gone to soon. A balloon release where currently 185 balloons have been claimed to be released. Thats so many children being remembered, so many families grieving. A day where the Scott family will join other families in breaking the silence. And last, all over the nation is the Wave of Light- we invite you to join us. Light a candle at 7pm to honor all the children gone to soon. Remember them, show the families you have not forgotten. Break the silence, the taboo, the unspoken truth that 1 in 4 loose a child. There is no greater loss than a death of a child. Danny and Angela are 1 in 4- Do you remember???
