Wednesday is going to be a great day to stay indoors! A frigid blast of Arctic air will build into the Ozarks during the day. Temperatures will begin in the mid-teens and fall to near 10 by noon. Many places north of Springfield will see daytime readings in the single digits. Strong north winds between 15-25 mph will accompany the cold air. Wind chills will range from -10 to around 5 degrees for much of the day. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for much of southwest Missouri through early Thursday. A few snow flurries are possible before sunrise near Lake of the Ozarks. No accumulation is forecast. Low temperatures Thursday morning will begin around zero for much of the region. Precautions should be taken against having frozen pipes. A second batch of frigid air moves into the Ozarks on Friday. A very slow warmup then takes place through the weekend into early next week. A few flurries are possible Sunday and early Monday in north Arkansas but for now little to no accumulation is expected.
