Wednesday with Instructional Designers: Happy midweek to all! Today we bring to you an interesting blog post by Steve Wheeler on Global conversations. Do you (if you were born in before the 90s) remember the days before the Web... before 1995? There were very few mobile phones, but if you have one, it was probably the size of a 1 litre water bottle. Those were the days where writing pads and pencils were our note taking tools; fax, memos and postal mails were commonly used for communication. Communication has been transformed beyond recognition. email is already embedded into the culture of most organisations, and is used by everyone without much thought. Mobile phones are also common place, giving us the ability to connect with anyone, just about anywhere. Whats more, many people stare down at their mobiles, rather than holding them to their ear. This means that texting too, has become normal practice, as has our use of touch screens, social media and search engines. A lot has changed in less than two decades. - Steve Wheeler.
