Week 3 of connecting the first pull back into my lifts. Since I - TopicsExpress

Week 3 of connecting the first pull back into my lifts. Since I got hammered last week with the flu/cold/nastiness, Im still not feeling 100% this week. I took this as an opportunity to train a different aspect of the movement. . Weve all heard the phrase, lift lightweight like its heavy and heavyweight like its light. Outside of sounding all Yoda and philosophical-like, what does it really mean? Well, to me, it means matching the tempo, timing, rhythm from empty bar all the way through till your working weights (and beyond). This is a concept Coach Wu (@wuchuanfu) has coined just nice. . Many times during training, Coach Wu would say, I want you to use the smallest amount of effort to move the weight. A similar statement was made by Liao Hui (69kg World champion) as he was observing some workshop participants during the Chinese weightlifting clinic he was coaching when he said, Those guys are moving too fast. Theyll never be able to lift heavy weights that way. Which, to me, was extremely interesting because he didnt say that they were ripping the bar from the floor. He just said that they were moving too fast. Those are two very different situations. So, todays focus on the 1/2 snatch + snatch was on relaxing more into the lift and using as little effort as possible to move the weight. Basically, whatever I thought was necessary to make the weight move, I just gave it about 20% less. The load is still pretty light so no temptation is given to get after the bar. End result? I sent my video to Coach Wu and his response was, Woo. Nice Look very good. And if you know Coach Wu, hes not very easily impressed. #FuBarbell #ChuanfuTraining #ArtOfPower #JustNice #ReebokONE #CrossFit #Olympicstyleweightlifting #usaw #snatch #clean #cleanandjerk #technique #education #motivation #instagramfitness
