❀ Weekends with NParks ❀ ▷ Free Talk: The Beauty and Systematics of Porcelain Crabs Did you know that the porcelain crabs from the Porcellanidae family are so named because they have breakable legs that resemble delicate china? These crabs are common animals in the intertidal regions and play an important role in the coastal ecosystem. Some of them have beautiful colours, and are favourite subjects of underwater photographers. Join us for an afternoon seminar with Dr Osawa from the Research Centre for Coastal Lagoon Environments (Shimane University, Japan), who will share with us more about porcelain crabs – their morphology, systematics, and ecology. This is a talk jointly organised by National University of Singapore and NParks. Date: 8 June (Sun) Time: 4pm to 5pm Venue: Function Hall, Botany Centre Level 1, Singapore Botanic Gardens RSVP via tinyurl/lfrflkr. #weekendswithnparks #nparksbuzz #nparks #cityinagarden #nparksworkshop #nparkstalk #singaporebotanicgardens
