The following nuggets can help navigate your life to the top after NYSC. Nugget 1: Discover who you are if you have not done that before. Know what you can take, who can be your friend and associates, form your life guiding principles. Nugget 2: Discover where you are going. A no destination life is no life at all. Not all routes lead to the top. Your destination shapes your determination. Nugget 3: Determine your starting point. Having known where you are going, sit down to determine your starting point. Walk along the path of your destination as much as possible and you will soon become a specialist. Nugget 4: Get a skill on the path of your destination. Identify the minimum training/skill you can afford. It might be the key to the room of opportunities for you. Stay in an advantaged position arming yourself with relevant skill. Nugget 5: Be ready to work for experience and not only for money. Quick rich scheme can cloud your future if you so permit. You possess power when you possess knowledge. Nugget 6: Don’t eat with all your ten fingers. Refuse to eat from hand to mouth at all cost. No matter how meager your income is now create a savings culture. The amount you save is not as important as the culture created in your life system. Nugget 7: Gather contacts along your destination path. Start associating with people who have made it along that path for insight and direction. That is to say be humble enough to allow them to mentor you. Nugget 8: Continuously shape your character. What will sustain you all through to your dream land is your character. Good name can fetch you silver and gold. So don’t soil you good name because of silver and gold. Nugget 9: Avoid distractions. Be committed enough to your destination. Don’t sacrifice the ‘best’ for the ‘good’. Distractions will always come. Be sure to make the best decision relevant to your future. Nugget 10: G-factor (God factor). Believe in God for your success. Serve God with your strength, time and money. It pays. One with God is with majority. See you at the top
