Welcome to Wednesdays With Wes! Both of our teams had a strong showing at our return to The Tricky Triangle. Clint Bowyer drove the RK Motors Camry to the his 3rd Top-5 and 9th Top-10 finish of 2014. Brian Vickers and the Aaron’s Dream Machine were also having a great day racing hard in the top 10 and even running as high as 3rd at times until the restart on lap 124, when the 11 car got sideways in front of us. When Brian tried to avoid the wreck, the car got out from underneath him and a 13 car pile-up ensued. The differing fuel strategies employed by the 43 teams at Pocono Raceway saw cars rising and falling in position with drastic swings until the field cycled through. You will likely see a similar “Back Calling” Strategy this weekend as well. At just under 2.45 miles in length, the “short course” layout of Watkins Glen International is the next stop for Clint Bowyer, Brian Vickers and the rest of the MWR team members as we plan on taking full advantage of the final Road Course race of the Season. youtu.be/9rC1gyEb6PM
