Welcome to our New Extension Coordinator Brittany Hoffman! To: University of Maryland Extension 4-H Horse Program Volunteers I am pleased to announce that our Extension Coordinator position to support Environmental and Equine Science related programming has been filled. Please welcome Brittany Hoffman to the Maryland 4-H Team. Brittany’s official start date is August 1 and will office at the state 4-H headquarters in College Park. Brittany’s position will focus on two of our heavily involved program areas including Environmental Science Programming predominately focused on Shooting Sports under the oversight of Youth Development Specialist Denise Frebertshauser and mentored by Conrad Arnold. Related to the Equine Program, she will work under the oversight of Youth Development Specialist for Animal Science, Chris Anderson, and work closely with our State Horse Program Advisory Committee. Brittany grew up in the 4-H program in Charles County and obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in Agricultural Business Management from West Virginia University with a minor in Equine Management. Over the past year, Brittany has completed a post graduate equine management internship where she gained practical programming experience. In addition to leadership skills acquired during her 4-H membership, Brittany also served as the president of her agricultural sorority and other leadership positions during her college experience. We are pleased to have Brittany as part of the Maryland 4-H Team. You will most likely have first occasion to interact with Brittany at the State 4-H Horse Show held during the Maryland State Fair.
