Well Abbys first day as an official 2nd grader was jam packed and very successful. I am so glad that she still excited and loving school. Jon and I both have gotten a lot of inputs from other on their opinions of our choosing on how to educate our child, but to be very honest with everyone we just ignore it. Being a parent is one of the toughest jobs and privileges we will ever face in life, and we are truly happy with our choice in this matter in particular and will stick to our guns on this. I cant tell the the number of nasty looks I get when I tell someone that our daughter is homeschooled, and about 98% of them have absolutely no clue about the program she is in. Abby has not only me but also a certified Arkansas teacher assigned to her, and Abby is also considered to be in a public school who happens to be based at home. She doesnt get snow days off, she is studying everything the public schools are and also gets to study religion. She is very social and has many options to participate with other children of all ages. So as you can now clearly see there is not many downsides to our choice here. She works at her own pace and cant move forward to the next lesson until she passes. The best part, my daughter is the happiest she could ever be. To Jon and I both that is the biggest reward. So please keep your negative comments to yourself on the matter of our childs education, because honestly we dont really care for negative opinions from others who do not understand. My child is definitely getting what she needs and then some. Please get all the facts before you judge and do your research, because we are not in a run of the mill homeschool. She is enrolled is K12. Sorry for the novel, but this topic with people is getting very old and very boring. Thanks :-)
