Well, I am required to show up for jury duty tomorrow. So, as a precursor, heres a little about me. I believe in jury nullification, meaning the jury has the right to decide a law is invalid and rule accordingly. Philosophically, I am an anarcho-capitalist and believe society operates by the voluntary cooperation of individuals with other individuals. Imprisonment is the caging of humans and I believe it is intrinsically inhumane. If someone commits a crime, they ought to be punished, not tortured — the primary punishments ought to be capital, corporal, or restitution. My ethical guide is Biblical Law; it details what is and is not criminal, and if it doesnt determine something to be a crime, I dont believe its a crime. Finally, jury duty, by virtue of being obligatory and something which I cannot choose to participate or not participate in, is, de facto, slavery. At the very least, its indentured servitude. So, being duly informed, feel free to pick me for your jury.
