Well, I promised, albeit a little late today, that Id introduce NOBvember (dont be a dick head driver!). I ask you to pledge to...well basically stick to the highway code for November and be a courteous driver. After several incidences recently I thought Id compile a list to observe... I pledge to: 1. Signal when I wish to turn or pull over (not brake, pull over and then signal) 2. Signal when going round a roundabout and signal which exit I plan on taking 3. Stop at red lights 4. Not suddenly stop at green lights 6. Look for speed signs to help me know what speed I should be doing e.g. not do 30 in a 50 when its clearly stated, unless I am a restricted speed vehicle of course! 5. Stick to the speed (therefore I wont need to slam on my brakes when I see a speed camera because Ill know Im doing the legal speed already and if you are doing the legal speed there really is no need to brake...) 7. Not use my phone while driving (unless hands free) 8. Not drive on the wrongside of the road at the on coming traffic (causing them to brake hard) because Im frustrated by the queue Im in 9. Be curteous and let people out when traffic is horendous; what goes around comes around 10. Not pull out in front of on coming traffic, causing other drivers to slam on their brakes because I think I own the road and have the right to (also see 9) 11. Not drive up the arse of the car in front because I have a big flash car and want to go faster (see 5 and 6 and 13) 12. Not hog the midle lane of the motorway 13. Not be distracted by my passengers to the detriment of my driving ( e.g. fluctuating between 20 and 30 miles/hour while you chat is very off putting, and somewhat dangerous, for the driver behind). Im sure you can share plenty of other bad driving observations to add to this list! And Im pretty sure we have all done one or two of them!! So, for NOBvember I pledge to do my best and be a good driver. Please share and spread the news of NOBvember :) x
