Well, Im about 2 episodes into Season 3 of The Walking Dead, so I think Im at least far enough to have a decent opinion on the series, so heres what I think: The Walking Dead, from my experience, has this amazing ability to draw someone into watching, as well as keep them watching, and waiting. It has as a lure. A pretty damn good lure. However, dont let that lure fool you. Think of this lure like a really fattening food product. You might think it looks good, but its actually not good for you. What Im trying to say is: Though there are charming things about The Walking Dead that people may like, there are also loads of shitty writing elements in it that make the show give you a complete love/hate interest in it. (Assuming youre not blinded by Walking Dead fanboyism.) I hate the pacing. I sorta hate the way the characters are put together. And I hate how anti climactic some of the deaths in that series are, or how some of the really good characters that they DO have die in a somewhat Meh, his death could have seemed like it went out with a fight. leaving me feeling somewhat unsatisfied, and displeased with how shit went down, or how the group reacts. Its not a Bad show, but I wouldnt call it great, and I wouldnt even call it the best. Its just... Ugh, mediocre if anything. Like, ITS JUST good enough to pass as something that eats your time away, but for a good reason. Meaning: If youre going to watch The Walking Dead, turn your brain off. Kinda like a zombie. Almost makes me wonder if the writers purposely gave The Walking Dead terrible writing just so the viewers can feel like mindless zombies when watching it.
