Well, Ive made it almost 40 years without ever having the flu. Ive had countless students with it, nursed Jacek and Gavin back to health with the flu, but I always avoided it myself. Until now. Thank God for left over tamiflu and chicken soup and Lacy Roland!!!! She got me enough tamiflu to get started until Taylor could call the doctor for my own prescription today. I was too ill to even have walked from bed to the car yesterday, much less change out of jammies. I hate that the immunologist wouldnt let all of us take tamiflu as a preventive. He almost wasnt going to prescribe it for Beckem! He said its not suggested anymore unless the child has severe asthma? Thank God he was convinced that Beckem needed to not have this!! (It was immunologist on call and not our regular doc). Taylor was already on vacation this week (lucky him) and hes doing a good job of keeping the twins alive with Gavins help, but hes beyond frazzled (and I rarely see him frazzled). So theres certainly been no time to care for me. Ive never been so sick that I couldnt even get up for a drink of water. Which is just as well, because then Id have to get up for the bathroom. Dear Lord send these flu lizards far far away!!!!!!!!
