Well Libbys breathing is becoming more labored and she now looks like a fish out of water. We just got off the phone with Dr. Lortie our vet and we have decided to start her heartworm treatment tomorrow morning. She will only get one injection and not another for 30 days. This will probably turn out to be 3 injections of 30 days apart, because we need to take this slow. Even with that, Dr Lortie has told us to prepare for the worst, Libby is very sick and may not make it. The first 48 hours and next 2 weeks will be the most critical. Even though Libby cant breath, she is such a happy girl, and wants to play. Its hard to keep her down... but after play her breathing and coughing gets so much worse. Its going to be very hard to keep her quiet after treatment. She got a taste of what its like to have fun and be loved... and we can tell how happy she is to be with us... Shes our girl, please pray for her. Immiticide injections are so painful... Every dog must be on heartworm preventative... these dogs suffer so much.
