Well after freezing at golf yesterday, this mornings’ walk with cutch was cut short due to it being even colder!! Hence the blog. Some years ago (it was the year of Paul Kerins’ 40th birthday) Paul and I went to the Ballarat cattle sale (Paul was running a successful feedlot at the time) well the day went well, we brought and loaded the cattle and decided it was too late to head back home, so we booked into a motel and stayed the night. XXXX beer on Tap is pretty hard to come by in Ballarat, so we decided we would go on a treasure hunt to find the liquid gold. (We never actually found any). It was pretty late when we came across this nightclub/tavern type joint that had live music (It was fairly late or early, depending whether it was AM or PM) the cover charge had been reduced down to $5 and we got to sit right up the front with the manager of the group that was playing. The group was exceptional, and being in the state we were both in, I consider they were right up there with the likes of the Rolling Stones and Bee Gees. On the way home next morning Paul announces how he booked the band to play at his upcoming birthday and not only that he brought a few copies of there just freshly released album (he had even got a copy for me). Well we decided to play the CD, well Banjo (my dog) and CC (my cat) when they are fighting make a better noise than what was coming out of the speakers in the car, the noise coming out was a cross between screeching brakes and sharpening a knife. Well it was a bit hard bit hard but Paul was able to cancel the booking. It just goes to show though, no matter how late we are coming home and how much you go on. It will all sound a lot worse if you leave it to the next morning, have a great Sunday.
