Well completed a few days in Turkey...tomorrow start work (my work visa become effective tomorrow :) ) and move to new hotel closer to airport while I find semi perm lodging...it is a way the airline dodges the work visa thing... So far biggest surprise? The airline seems eager to pay me :) the entire thing is very professional people are very nice...the airlinhas a lot of assets. Some non professional things that surprise me? Hotel is really really nice the next one promises to be better. Work visa came very quickly so did validation of license...all I have to do is complete training. European conversion was real easy...getting hooked up with sim company The airline has a big natural selection ie 25 percent or less of interviews make it...it shows in the talent and the professionalism of the people who I am with. GPS works (no not really a surprise) but I was surprised that WWVB synced up. Of course I brought the 14 inch long 3 inch wide 8 ferrite core antenna and it took a little bit of orientation but once there bang... I need to learn the language. or at least more then I know. Prices on most things are about stateside...electronics are probably a tad more expensive (maybe 1 percent) but hardware is about 5 percent cheaper...food about the same....got a throw down chicken and some grape leaves for 4 US... Now all I have to do is learn the airplane :) All seems to be going well And I am over jet lag :) RGO
