Well done Chad Hall on your NWT ram! This was my first sheep hunt and boy-oh-boy was it bittersweet. I booked the hunt with Jim Lancaster at Nahanni Butte Outfitters guided by Kelly Wiebe. As a bone cancer survivor that was left with a total knee and femur replacement, I had a lot of work to do in the offseason to condition my body and mind for the rigors the mountain would have in store for me. After 5 months of strength and endurance training I was able to put on 15lbs of solid muscle mass on my core to give me the confidence I could get this done! I harvested this 39” fannin ram on the 3rd day of the trip at 305 yards with my Gunwerks LR-1000 rifle “Rose” named after the cancer center that saved my life. What a dream come true!
