Well, earlier in the week I had to delete a few friends who were calling people crazy or liking the posts of those who called people crazy. I guess Ill have to cull my list again because some people want to continue to make fun of those who suffer from depression and other mental illnesses. As a matter of fact, Ill delete anyone who engages in belittling others because of physical or mental illnesses, or hateful things like making fun of someones teeth, the way they look, the clothes they wear, where they live, their skin color, etc. My parents taught me to be kind to everyone and not to bully or make fun of others. Looks like a few folks have forgotten The Golden Rule! Its especially disturbing when educators take part in bashing those who suffer from these maladies. No wonder so many teens are committing suicide: between bullying not being addressed by those in charge and then being misunderstood by those who educate them, its sad.....and deeply concerning. I think educators who ignore bullying and engage in making fun of those with physical or mental illnesses should have their teaching certificates revoked and be required to take courses on how to help children who are being bullied or whom or depressed, suffer from anxiety, etc.
