Well, finally eating breakfast. At 10 p.m. Mother fell today and I had to call an ambulance. She has now broken both hips and the right hip twice;this one is around the hip replacement. We kept NOT being seen by a doctor in emergency while people came and went and SOME people should not have been in emergency in the first place. But I know why, they did a xray within 2 hrs of us getting there and KNEW her hip was broken just like the ambulance guys and me. As she is on a blood thinner, there is no way surgery will happen right away. Good I was there to advocate for her and she is getting confused with the pain meds, etc. There are actually 20 patients waiting for beds so she will be stuck in emergency all night, shall meet with the orthopedic surgeon in the morning. As I left, I heard the emerg doctor talking to some other ortho doc on the phone requesting a consult which he did not tell me he was doing. Phoned her caregiver the moment I got home as her hours will have to be increased.
