Well its been a crazy 2 weeks here, we have had a few personal things happen in our family & my dog (Kenya) had her shoulder operation last Tuesday :-( Kenya underwent Arthrosocopy for OCD in her shoulder. She had a large ocd (bone and cartilage abnormality) lesion in her shoulder. The bone and cartilage flap was removed and an arthroscopic burr was used to clean up the underlying defect to help promote fibrocartilage growth into the area. Fortunately most dogs do well in the long term, however her defect was very medial (deep inside the joint) which means the recovery isnt quite as successful. Never the less she is coping okay at the moment and is on bed rest for 4 weeks with only 4 x 5 minute slow walks a day. She is getting spoilt with loads of cuddles, lots of new toys and treats to keep her occupied :-) A huge thank you to everyone at VSS at underwood and Dr Peter Gilbert and Dr Moses who both did her surgery. I havent actually turned the computer on for a whole week which has been amazing although its been a stressful week its been great not doing any work as such- although everyday I have so many new ideas and designs for next year going through my head. So thats my little/big update on where I have been. Thanks to everyone who has helped with Kenya wether that be the amazing donations, sharing her story or letting her tag along with me to places dogs normally cant go. My amazing work Redlands Produce being one of them.
