Well its been a day my Mum would have approved of to mark one year! Chris and I iced cakes, hilarious cake and icing explosion. Conor sat with Granny so Chris and I went for a walk in the woods. Mum loved to walk and was mad on birds. After we found a pub that we have never have been to I had to have a glass to toast her and sit in the garden. Then amazingly as we were sat looking over the river in the last of the sunshine, I saw a flash of orange and blue. A Kingfisher shot by, I have only ever seen one as a teen and for a fleeting second. Poor Chris has never seen one, he said Aww at least you saw it!! Then it flew back, stopping on a branch opposite, stayed a while then went. We have photos too. Mum you would have loved our choice of day and tonight I am lighting a candle and will toast you again.
