Well, its been a minute. I had to endure some of the unfortunate circumstances that occasionally arise in this wonderful place. But I am back, and am in good health and spirits. I had a lot to think about over the last couple weeks and the one thing I feel most compelled to write about is...friendship. I am very thankful for the few friendships that I have been able to make and cultivate over the last few years. I have a great friend with whom I recently made contact with again after a couple year absence due to DOC constraints. But the reemergence of this friend has shown me that real people do exist, and true friendships can endure anything, span any amount of time, and conquer any pitfall thrown at them if both people truly love and repsect each other. Of course, Ive also had the chance to glimpse at the unfortunate ugly side of friendships as well. There are people who still like to have their opinions about michelles choice to be in a relationship with me, and hypocritically state Ill just keep my opinions to myself. So, aside from that comment being passive aggressive and snide, its the perfect example of when someone should take their own advice. I see this as a moment when we all can see the ugliness that comes from superficial ego-driven prejudge-mental tendencies that are present in most of us. The bottom line is, if you dont know me, then educate yourself on my story. I am open to emails, phone calls, letters and my case is public record. I have an eerie suspicion that this individual of whom I speak would probably throw on that fake mask of self-righteous indignation in the presence of some other ex-felons: Micheal Vick, Martha Stewart, Tim Allen, Robert Downey Jr., Christian Slater... Its all about perception with most. And so...if someones choice to love someone causes you to end a friendship with that person, I suppose your friendship was based more upon what You needed from that relationship than what you actually liked about your friend. Loyalty and respect are hallmarks of a noble friend and mate and we should all strive to embody these virtues in our friendships. We choose our friends in life because we like what they stand for and respect who they are as individuals. That being said, be good friends to those you call friends. Have their back, support them in their choices, and be there when they need you. Take it from someone who knows what its like to be in this world completely alone...friends are priceless and true frined are irreplaceable. What up K-Zoo? Be proud in the fact that you, my brother, are a true friend. Be Good. Be Safe. Always Stay Strong. Sonny
