Well, the Hacienda Heights 4th of July Parade is almost here! Thank you everyone for your enthusiastic support of this wonderful community event! Diane Adams is really looking forward to being on the truck along with Mike, Nick, Matthew and Katie (who will be playing in The Band)! David and Nancy have made a large Thank You Mr. Adams! banner for the truck, and the Parade Committee is supplying us with a Gilbert Adams - Community Hero sign for the truck as well! The truck is waiting for us and Bonnie has prepared the decorations, which everyone will use to help decorate the truck once it arrives at Grazide around 8:20 AM on Friday morning. Jonathan will be providing the requested band instruments Thursday night, which Michele Renee Raussa Oliva, Ryan Lewis, Gary Reynolds and I will be picking-up at 8:00 PM. We anticipate having a really nice turn-out for the parade, which will include the largest band that we have had in the last 18 years as well as a large number of enthusiastic individuals that will be joining us and helping us cheer on the crowd on Friday morning! And of course, Randy Ceniceros has polished his mace so that he can proudly lead us down Stimson on Friday morning (don’t worry, we are not marching)! The excitement is building, so get ready! Parade Music We will be playing our three standard songs for the parade – “This Land is Your Land,” “Louie, Louie,” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” Please make sure to bring your music and a lyre. The music is available under the Files section of the “Thank You Mr. Adams!” Facebook page. We will do our best to provide music to those that do not have it on Friday morning. Meeting Place, Time and Parking For those that would like to meet us at Dibble (1600 Pontenova Avenue), please be there at 8:00 AM. You can park on Pontenova and, provided that there is room, go with the truck up to Grazide. This will enable us to have cars at the end of the parade route to shuttle people back to Grazide after the parade. The truck will leave Dibble at 8:15 AM. Note that there will be limited space on the truck. Alternatively, you can drop your car off at Dibble and carpool to Grazide. For those that are not able to carpool, please meet us at Grazide around 8:20 AM. There will be no parking directly in front of Grazide on Leopold, but parking will be available in the surrounding neighborhood. Note that cars will need to access Grazide from Colima and Allenton.
