Well, the book is finished and has been professionally edited. Usually this is the moment when Id announce a publishing date, but Im postponing publishing in order to submit the book in a contest. Not because I think it will win the contest, but because Im hoping to get a quote or two from the judges to use on the cover. One of the contest requirements is that it not be published until the contest is over, at the end of March. So, the publishing date will be April. This process of writing a book was eye-opening. Not only with the amount of time and effort required, but also with the amount of money that goes into writing, publishing, and marketing. For people who accuse authors of having cush jobs, they have absolutely no clue what theyre talking about. You put your heart and soul into your writing, and then open yourself up to criticism by publishing, and all for pennies. Its agonizing. I started this journey in June of 2014, so by the time it is published it will have taken almost a full year to get it out there and hundreds of dollars invested, not to mention my time (and my beta readers time). I appreciate everyone who has been with me on this journey, and to all of you who offered advice and moral support along the way. Its not just my book--it belongs to all of you, too.
