Saturday, September 21st 7 pm Join Dan for an intimate evening house concert of Old Time Traditional Music with Fiddle, Clawhammer Banjo, Songs and Stories of the Road. Tickets $10-$15 sliding scale Eugene, OR (River Road area, address upon confirmation) ... Workshops: Sunday, September 22nd Cost: $40, or $75 for both sessions Bow use for Old Time Fiddle: 11:00-12:30 Bow use is one of the most important skills in turning notes into music. When to up and down bow, when to pause or add emphasis to a stroke. How DO you figure out where that rhythm comes from? We’ll look at all of this and more as we explore how the bow impacts the tune. Clawhammer Banjo: 1:00-2:30, Double thumb, drop thumb, the “Galax Lick” and more will be taught resulting in your ability to play virtually any tune you want with these techniques. While many of you have heard of these techniques and some already use them here is a chance to refine those techniques and use them to play a tune like you heard it and/or make that tune your own.
