Well, the last few days have been kind of crazy so havent had time to post. Last Monday my dad was walking really well...and Tuesday he went to his Primary care Physican and everything was great...hed had labs and everything looked good. Wednesday morning about 4 am he woke Mike up because he was freezing had chills really bad. Later that day I went out to be with them and we tried to get my dad to his chair and he collapsed on the floor just from no strength. We had to call 911 to have them help us get him up because he had no strength in his arms or legs to get himself up. For the next couple of days he ran a fever and was weak. We were able to get him back to bed and he stayed there until we got him into doc yesterday. By then there was this awful rash or something on his lower right leg. It was looking worse and my friend Kathleen Coleman is a lifesaver as an RN she said we needed to have it looked at. Sooooo after 5 hours of waiting we finally got him seen at the ER. I didnt want to say it but it reminded me of pictures I have seen of flesh eating disease. (my dad said some of the girls were afraid to touch it lol) but doc says it is probably from a cut or something or even a spider bite which has gotten infected and looks worse because of him being on a blood thinners. So he is currently in the hospital..they couldnt get an IV into him as his veins kept collapsing so they are giving him oral antibiotics and already his white blood count is coming back down. I was just glad it was a treatable infection...we had thought in beginning was a bug and we never saw anything on his leg until Saturday and it had just started. So they said they will be keeping him at least one more day but we are all relieved this is not as bad as it could have been. So would love prayers for his recovery and return to strength to where we do not have to hire anyone to help Mike care for him or he end up in a nursing home. So now we have our thinking Cats on it hleps. lol
