Well things are looking up for hwy 40 and access to peter lougheed: from alberta parks website :) Access to Mount Kidd Campground to Retrieve Personal Property Late Monday evening transportation crews finalized the installation of a temporary bridge on Highway 40 over Evan-Thomas Creek. Between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 25th people evacuated from Mount Kidd Campground will be permitted to return to the site to retrieve personal property. As Highway 40 remains closed to public traffic due to safety concerns, vehicles will travel in convoy with a pilot vehicle both to and from Mount Kidd Campground. Anticipate delays as there will be a 60km/hr speed restriction on the Highway 40 and controlled access to the Evan-Thomas Bridge. This convoy service may continue through the week if required. If you need a ride to return to Kananaskis Country, can offer a ride to someone else or require additional information we encourage you to contact the Kananaskis Flood Emergency Information Line at 403-678-5500 Extension 222.
