Well, this is it. Today is our last day with our office at the Regions Building. I am packing up and leaving with a very heavy heart. When Shreveport Bossier Animal Rescue moved in one year ago, we were a young, small organization, looking for an identity, and looking for the next steps to keep growing. We were young, having only been operational for a few months. I had no idea we would ever get as big as we are today. Shortly after moving into the office, revenue exploded, the rescue grew rapidly, and the lives saved went off the charts. I had so many great times here, having spent more than 1,500 hours in the office, if not much more, over the last year. I spent many early morning and late nights here. Leaving at 10:00 or 11:00 at night became the norm after a while. We survived the 2014 kitten season, and by the end of it, euthanasia statistics and happy tails photos were plastered all over the walls. It has truly been an honor and privilege to meet all the great tenants and employees here. I’ve learned a lot, I have grown as a person, and I am so thankful for this wonderful opportunity. I look forward to the next chapter, being in a shelter, but before I look forward, I am taking the next few hours to walk the floors, say good bye, and remember where we started, and how far we have come.
