Well this stinks. The day Kevin Metheny got the KGO job we started texting each other about how much fun it was going to be to compete. Friends for years he tried to get me to come back to Chicago, the only city I love as much as San Francisco, when he was at WGN, and we looked forward to either working together or working against one another in the same city again, meeting one another after work and snarking whatever the other one was doing. It was going to be a hoot having him in SF because he had the two things I love best in this business: he was nuts and he loved radio. His passing so suddenly is a reminder to all of us to treasure each day. Im so bummed for his family, but also because as one of our texts promised, this is going to be fun. It would have been a blast. 60 is too young.
