Well time for an update.... on Monday last week after a rather horrid night we finally got the ok for me to transition to Bezzina House - this is the Cancer Care Centre where my family stayed with me to help me get ready for coming home. I did not announce this as it was still very much dependent on how I went. Well I did well - walked to the hospital every day as an out patient for my wound management. Professor Morris was very pleased - a week ahead of what I thought might be best case scenario. My family (Fay and Tony) and my gorgeous friends Karen Satara and Brettly were there holding my hand and all went well. Now for the big news.... I am home.... yes home!!!! arrived back in Newcastle late yesterday to my beautifully cleaned home (thank you beautiful Shianne Forman) where my brother and SIL handed me over to my bestie Carmel to look after me over the next two days. Community Nurse is coming everyday and I am getting used to the routine I now have. Everyone is saying how well I look - I have lost quite a bit of weight and look much better in my face - my eating is still an issue - small amounts and looking for what tempts me as well as sustains me.... I walk like an old lady but that will improve over the next weeks. It has been a long road thus far - 4 weeks ago I was still in intensive care - so I know how quickly you can feel better. We will be seeing the oncologist in the next 2 weeks and then we know how the chemo regime will be. Again for all the support from everyone - thank you does not seem enough - but I am sure you all know how much I have appreciated everything. xxx
