Well, today marks my last night in Gainesville. I have been out of my apartment for a while now, and anytime that I am here again will be merely as a visitor. I can remember being a senior in high school, and choosing to attend the University of Florida, and not feeling really caring much about the Gators or college in general. Since then I can definitely say that I bleed Orange and Blue! These past four years have been way more than I expected. Maybe its just nostalgia talking, but as much as I am excited for my future with Crossroads Worldwide I am surely going to miss my home of the past 4 years. The Lord is so good. There have been many moments of joy and laughter, as well as heartache and sadness. But I cant help but look back and remember all the faithfulness of God, and the amazing people He brought into my life. I so much to be thankful for. This place has been amazing. Its not just the Gators, football, or anything about the city, but the people and relationships that i have had the pleasure of having. Everyone from those i have known since my first day in Gainesville to those I just met this past month have made it all worth it. From Andy Cole and David Burns who used to take me disc golfing as a freshman, to Matt Seitz who used to let me eat my sandwiches in his office at the BCM, to all the BCM Gator bandmates that Ive had over the years, as well as Eddie Gilley and David Wood for all their wisdom and guidance, I am truly grateful. Its hard not to mention my time at the 1020 Outback. All of you feel like family, but with Tim Garofalo, Zac Blobner, Brian Richie, Chris Fox, Mike Fountain, and Joe Z, how could we not have a great time. I praise God for men and brothers in faith like Philip Barb, Juan-Ignacio Ibarra, and Josue Benitez, of whom I have had the privilege of seeing grow into godly men over the years. Thank you for your fellowship and encouragement and prayers. Its guys like you that make it worth being in ministry. Im thankful for Rivercross Church and the family they have provided me with. From Zach Dickson, Ricky Bell, and Wayne Patterson, who all were bold enough to ask me the hard questions and help direct my path. Most of all, I am happy to call Clay Willis my best friend. It is by Gods providence and great design that we became friends. A man who I had the pleasure of standing next to at the altar with his wife. You are truly a man that challenges me and makes me want to be better. And in you I have found family, with you, PJ Willis, Brantley Willis, and the rest of the Willis clan. Praise the Lord for all He has done, and is yet to do!
