Well tonight was interesting at 2:25 pm the lights at work went out as if the light going out wasnt bad enough at first the er generator didnt kick-in now if this wasnt bad enough i got to work at 2:00 pm my usual and was watching the last 30 minutes of Romancing The Stone and just as Kathleen Turner was going to be kissed senseless by the ever gorgeous Michael Douglas the D lights went out. But what happened next is why I LOVE MY JOB!!! No one got excited day shift and evening shift both still there fell in together and went to check on the residents let them know everything was ok and we were there nothing to worry about then after the important people Our Residents were calmed and assured things were under control, we went to report and got busy not just busy but the whole team our receptionist our chefs and servers our CNAs and CMAs and secruity persons came together to serve and reassure our residents they were safe and we were taking care of them and on top of the situation. What was suppose to end at 6 or 7 pm lasted to until 910pm and with the best team on in our field it was one of the best nights weve had the residents came out in the hall because there was no tv and nothing to do inside their rooms and laughed and joked and talked with the staff and I dont think anyone really missed the tv or the power I am so lucky to have my girls and my residents and a job I love and am proud of you want to hear one of the best things that ever happened to me one of my 90 plus residents told me if I coulnt get home because of the weather to come to her room and shed change her sheets and I could sleep in her bed and she would sleep on her sofa cause I worked I ant much for tears happy or otherwise but this girl had happy tears. See you girls in the afternoon tomorrow.
