Went out this morning to Sohun Aidpost, Namatanai District, today with the eye nurses from the Fred Hollows Foundation (based in Modilon Hospital, Madang) and Kavieng General Hospital to commence day 1 of screening today. It was such a great experience observing the nurses at work and to assist with logistics to make this all happen for the people of Namatanai. We are so grateful for the support from Honorable James Byron Chan, the Open Member for Namatani and Minister for Mining, Robin Brown the newly appointed District Administrator, Provincial Health, the staff of Namatanai Rural Hospital and the support of the staff and management of Kavieng General Hospital. It is such a privilege to see everyone putting their hand up to assist wherever they can to pull this off and even greater to see it all coming together. It was definitely a great start today and we look forward to a great two weeks ahead and continue this partnership into the future. Great team effort all around.
